Saturday the 24th of April at Freemans Bay Community Centre, witnessed a special and unique gathering of invitees bringing their mind, body and heart to support the launch of an initiative for women’s well-being along with the Tamil New Year celebration.
On Sunday 11th April 2021, the Telugu Badminton Club of Canterbury (TBCC) organised a first of its kind community event, “WHANAUNGATANGA”, with the intention to bring together its diverse community of players.

New Zealand Nepal Society and Non-Residential Nepalese Organisation, celebrated Nepal Festival 2021 on Saturday 27th March at Aotea Square in Auckland CBD from 11 am to 7 pm. The occasion was a celebration of Nepalese Art, Food and Culture to mark the Nepalese New year 2078 BS. Event started with a cultural parade down the Queen street.
The India New Zealand Business Council (INZBC) held its much awaited India Unplugged series in Christchurch at the Canterbury Club, on 1st December 2020. Shanti Niwas Charitable Trust, the oldest Indian organisation in Auckland serving elders of South Asian Communities, has started re-opening its drop-in centres spread in different parts of Auckland. On Wednesday 29th August, the drop-in centre situated at Balmoral Community centre started with lots of fanfare with around a hundred people attending the programme.
Naaree – a women’s Facebook Group established during the lockdown on April 15, organised an event last Sunday at the Shanti Niwas premises in Onehunga, Auckland, with the aim of empowering women, bring them out of the COVID-19 slumber, and give women businesses a platform to showcase their products.
Last Sunday, Kal Creative Events owned and operated by Kal Kullar, organized an event, Ladies Mid Winter Party, as a comeback get together after COVID-19 lock-down. And if the event could be described in a word, it would be glamour!
