Pak’n’Save, New World and Four Square customers will soon have a new way to earn and use rewards across supermarkets as Foodstuffs’ co-operatives announce a new loyalty programme. Foodstuffs North Island and Foodstuffs South Island have unveiled Club+, a new rewards and benefits scheme that will be rolled out across its major supermarket brands from June 15, with sign-ups opening today. Acting chief customer officer Brendon Lawry said the programme was designed to reflect how New Zealanders shop. “We know more than three quarters of customers regularly shop at more than one supermarket,” he said. “Club+ is designed to reflect those changing shopping habits by giving people a single rewards and savings programme they can use across Foodstuffs brands.” Club+ would be available digitally through the Club+, New World and Pak’n’Save apps, although customers could still opt for a physical card. Under Club+, shoppers will earn Club+ Dollars at New World (0.75%) and Four Square (0.38%), which can then be spent at all three banners, including Pak’n’Save. Pak’n’Save customers will not earn rewards points but can redeem them, alongside accessing fuel discounts and targeted deals. Asked why Pak’n’Save customers would not be able to earn rewards points, Foodstuffs said the decision reflected Pak’n’Save’s focus on keeping prices low rather than offering a traditional earn-and-redeem rewards system. “Instead of traditional rewards, Club+ at Pak’n’Save gives customers extra value through fuel discounts, personalised Club+ Picks, and the ability to spend Club+ Dollars earned at New World or Four Square on their Pak’n’Save shop,” a spokesperson said.
