Migrant Association of Aotearoa have stood up yet again for the migrants. On 3rd April the association was outside Prime minister Jacinda Ardern’s electorate office at Mount Albert.

They were joined by Green Party immigration spokesperson Ricardo Menendez March, who has always stood by the migrants and their rights even before becoming a member of parliament.

On 10th April, the association was present at Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan office at Neilson street. The disturbance in the weather did not hold them back and they buckled down on the street with their support for migrant community.

There were concerns raised on not one but a couple of issues that the current government needs to investigate and before a solution is presented, they need to give some sort of assurance or make announcements.

People have financial and emotional investment, and they are ready to even drop it only if the government gives some clarity.

“Just based on purely economics I think it makes sense at this moment and time to give amnesty to everyone who is here is one of the demand.” says Anu Kaloti. -TIN
