David Beckham has spoken for the first time since his son unleashed an explosive statement regarding his family on Instagram.
During an appearance on the CNBC show Squak Box, David didn’t mention his son Brooklyn directly, but spoke about the impact of social media.
He instead said children make mistakes online, and should be allowed to.
“Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn.
“That’s what I try to teach my kids. But you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well.”
Yesterday, David’s 26-year-old son, Brooklyn Beckham spoke of a feud between him and his family for the first time in a lengthy post to Instagram.

In the post, Brooklyn claimed his parents tried to “ruin” his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, and also controlled narratives in the media about his family.
Nicola, who married Brooklyn in 2022, is the daughter of American businessman and billionaire Nelson Peltz, and former model Claudia Heffner Peltz.
David meanwhile, a former England footballer, has been married to former Spice Girl and now fashion designer Victoria Beckham since 1999. The couple have four children with 26-year-old Brooklyn, 23-year-old Romeo, 20-year-old Cruz and 14-year-old Harper.
In his Instagram post, Brooklyn said: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.
“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born int
