Auckland, New Zealand – Bank of Baroda New Zealand has officially launched its new mobile banking application, BOB World NZ, marking a major milestone in the bank’s digital transformation journey and reinforcing its commitment to providing innovative, customer-focused banking solutions across New Zealand.
The launch event, held at the Consulate General of India in Auckland, attracted more than 150 guests, including customers, community leaders, business professionals, and members of the Indian diaspora. The occasion was graced by Her Excellency Ms Muanpuii Saiawi, High Commissioner of India to New Zealand; Dr M.M. Sethi, Consul General of India in Auckland; Mr N.S. Venkatachalam, Chairman of Bank of Baroda New Zealand; Mr Sandeep Khetan, Managing Director of Bank of Baroda New Zealand; senior bank executives; and prominent members of the business community.
The newly launched BOB World NZ app offers customers a secure and seamless digital banking experience, enabling easy access to account management, fund transfers, transaction monitoring, and a wide range of banking services through a modern and user-friendly platform.
Driving Digital Innovation
Speaking at the launch, Chairman Mr N.S. Venkatachalam said the introduction of BOB World NZ reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to innovation and customer-centric banking.
“As we continue to strengthen our global presence, our focus remains on delivering world-class digital solutions while maintaining the trust and personal relationships that have been the foundation of our success for over a century. This initiative reinforces our vision of making banking simpler, smarter, and more accessible for customers worldwide,” he said.
Managing Director Mr Sandeep Khetan described the launch as a significant step forward in the bank’s digital journey.
“BOB World NZ demonstrates our commitment to providing customers with secure, convenient, and technology-driven banking solutions. We are proud to support the financial aspirations of individuals, families, and businesses while continuously investing in innovation to enhance customer experience and meet the evolving needs of our communities,” he said.
Strengthening India–New Zealand Connections
Addressing the gathering, Her Excellency Ms Muanpuii Saiawi highlighted the growing economic relationship between India and New Zealand.
“India and New Zealand are entering an exciting phase of economic engagement, particularly with the momentum created by ongoing discussions around strengthening bilateral trade and investment. Institutions such as Bank of Baroda can serve as a natural bridge between the two countries by facilitating financial connectivity, supporting businesses, and enabling greater economic cooperation. I congratulate the bank on this important digital milestone,” she said.
Dr M.M. Sethi, Consul General of India in Auckland, acknowledged the bank’s contribution to the Indian community in New Zealand.
“Bank of Baroda has played an important role in serving the Indian community in New Zealand and supporting stronger people-to-people and business-to-business connections. The launch of BOB World NZ demonstrates the bank’s commitment to embracing innovation while continuing to provide trusted and personalised service to its customers,” he said.
