Avadootha Datta Peetham is an International, Spiritual, Cultural & Social Welfare Organization established by His Holiness Dr Sri Ganapathy Sacchidananda Swamiji in 1966. Sri Swamiji’s universal vision & deep compassion for the upliftment of mankind has inspired the Peetham to run a vast variety of programs, activities & projects focussed on enrichment of human life.
Sri Swamiji is world-famous for spreading the values of Sanatan Hindu Dharma and is also renowned for his Healing & Meditation Music. The presiding deity in the Peetham is Lord Dattatreya, who is an incarnation of the divine Trinity Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
The Ashram in Mysore is set amidst a serene atmosphere, housing several temples, aviary, India’s largest Bonsai Garden, Veda Pathashala and one of India’s largest auditorium ‘Nada Mantapa’. Many renowned musicians from India have given concerts at the Nada Mantapa.
The Veda and Shastra Pathasalas run by Sri Swamiji impart sacred Vedas and shastras in the Gurukul system to several hundreds of students for over 18 years. It is great to note that many of them are acclaimed Vedic scholars today.
Sri Swamiji’s love for birds and protection of the environment, led to the establishment of ‘Shuka Vana’ at Mysore which is India’s largest aviary and rehabilitation centre for birds housing more than 3000 parrots. This aviary has won its place in the Guinness world record for the largest collection of parrots in a single aviary.
Swamiji’s beautiful Keertanas, Vedic pujas and Havans have brought several Vedic scholars to Mysore Ashram. For over 20 years, Sri Swamiji’s love and passion for music has led him to tour around the globe popularizing the ancient ‘Raga Ragini Vidya’ through his main instrument, the synthesizer, which he calls the Datta Veena.
Sri Swamiji has established over 85 Ashrams across the globe. All these Ashrams have Lord Datta temple for worship, daily Annadhana (mass feeding) for pilgrims & devotees, and free medical clinics. Sri Swamiji has built an 85 ft tall Hanuman in Trinidad, which is the tallest deity in the western hemisphere.
Sri Swamiji is a living embodiment of divinity and is dedicated to helping mankind connect with the eternal spirit. His mission is to awaken the dormant consciousness of humanity and lift it to the higher planes of existence, where it is free from the constraints of worldly bondage.
Sri Swamiji’s program in Auckland is organized by Datta Yoga Centre New Zealand (DYC NZ), which is a non-profit organization established in 2016 to spread the message of Sri Swamiji. DYC is actively engaged in conducting sessions on Datta Kriya Yoga, Bhagavad Gita classes, Datta Bhajans and Anaghashtami Vratam.
