Born into a family deeply devoted to Sri Sathya Sai Baba, lovingly called ‘Swami’, Geeta Mohan Ram carries the rich legacy of six decades of unwavering service to the Lord. Her granduncle, Sheshagiri Rao, was Swami’s personal attendant for over 20 years and the first priest at Prasanthi Nilayam when it was consecrated in 1950. His sacred connection with Swami began in 1943.
Her father, Dr. Padmanabhan, a renowned dental surgeon, was beloved by Swami and served Him in various organizational capacities at Whitefield, Bangalore, until 2008. Many will remember him as the devotee who had the privilege of walking behind Swami during darshans in Whitefield. Her mother, Kamala Padmanabhan, was personally appointed by Swami as the SSE coordinator for Karnataka, a role she served with distinction for 25 years. She was among the chosen few who had the divine opportunity to help develop the very first SSE (Bal Vikas) curriculum under Swami’s direct guidance.
Her family’s deep connection with Swami is truly remarkable. They were one of the nine blessed families who initiated the first-ever Akhanda Bhajan in 1945 under Swami’s instructions, a divine tradition that blossomed into a global event.
From the very moment of her birth, Geeta was embraced by Swami’s divine presence. She was lovingly named by Him, and her childhood was filled with unparalleled experiences of His grace. Swami frequently visited their home in Bangalore, and all her holidays and festivals were joyously spent in Puttaparthi, the abode of the Divine.
At just 15, Swami entrusted Geeta with the noble role of an SSE teacher, nurturing young minds with spiritual wisdom. She later conducted inspiring lectures under the Education in Human Values (EHV) program, enlightening high school teachers across Karnataka.

In 1978, she was blessed to have her marriage to Mohan Ram solemnized in Swami’s divine presence at Whitefield. The couple was further graced when their twin sons, Varun and Arun, were born in 1981 and personally named by Swami. Seven years later, the Lord directed the family to move to the USA, where they settled in the Maryland/Washington DC area. Mohan served at NASA, while Geeta dedicated herself to shaping young lives as a kindergarten teacher for 17 years, earning the prestigious “Best Teacher of the Year” award for five consecutive years.
Swami’s love and guidance have remained the guiding force in her life. For the past 20 years, at His divine command, Geeta has travelled across the globe—USA, UK, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Australia, Mauritius, and India—sharing the profound and deeply touching experiences of her journey with Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
