Following the approval of funds, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitin Gadkari for their contributions to the state’s development.
“Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Madhya Pradesh government is writing a new chapter of development by expanding road connectivity. The four-lane upgrade of the Bhopal-Kanpur Economic Corridor will not only boost the region’s economic progress but also improve traffic flow and reduce road accidents,” CM Yadav posted on X.
“I extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Union Minister on behalf of the people of the state,” he added.
According to the state’s Department of Public Relations (DPR), the government had previously announced the Bundelkhand Vikas Path in its Sankalp Patra–a major four-lane road project connecting Bhopal with the districts of Sagar and Chhatarpur in Bundelkhand. The initiative aims to improve connectivity from Bhopal to Sagar via Chhatarpur, extending to the Uttar Pradesh border, thereby boosting regional trade and easing traffic flow.
Although the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had already initiated the expansion process, certain segments were awaiting final approval. In a recent meeting in New Delhi, the green light was given to upgrade the stretches from Bhopal to Sagar and Chhatarpur to the Uttar Pradesh border to a four-lane highway.
With a total project cost of Rs3,589.4 crore, this approval will expedite the construction of the Bundelkhand Vikas Path, bringing the government’s commitment closer to fulfilment. The corridor will not only improve connectivity but also stimulate regional economic growth and business activity. -ANI
