Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday for the Cabinet approval of revised cost estimates of the Polavaram Project and also support for the capital Amaravati.

“Chief Minister expressed his gratitude for the approval of the Revised Cost Estimates for the Polavaram Project and overall handholding by the central government in matters related to resolution of fiscal stress. CM apprised the Prime Minister about Swarna Andhra@2047 vision which aligns with the Central Government’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 aiming to transform Andhra Pradesh into a USD 2.4 trillion economy with a per capita income of USD 43,000 by 2047,” the release mentioned.
CM Naidu also apprised the Prime Minister of the financial situation of the state and the general developments in the state. The CM requested sanctioning a few NHAI projects which are critical for the development of the state.
“Enhanced allocation under PMUY to improve the coverage of the scheme in Andhra Pradesh, and rightfully deliver the intended scheme benefit to about 60 lakhs Below Poverty Line existing customers who are left out from availing the benefits of the PMUY Scheme. Accelerating infrastructure projects in the capital city of Amaravati,” it stated.
The PM has assured all necessary support to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
CM Naidu also met with Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw and thanked him for taking forward the long-pending assurance of the establishment of a Railway Zone with Visakhapatnam as headquarters.
Andhra CM requested to establish a National Institute of Electronics and Information
Technology (NIELIT) to boost IT skills and digital literacy in Andhra Pradesh.
“Bringing the fabrication facility to Andhra Pradesh and creating an ecosystem to increase employment in high-tech jobs. Establishing a Data Embassy in Andhra Pradesh with international collaboration. Handholding startup ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh for emerging technologies like Drones, CCTV etc,” he requested Minister Vaishnaw.
CM Naidu also sought to facilitate the collaboration with experts on the above requests, encouraging sustainable growth and development, and targeting to achieve zero poverty by 2034.
The Chief Minister also discussed the possibilities of improving railway connectivity and infrastructure in the state and requested for operationalization of the South Coast Railway zone duly retaining the Waltair division to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Visakhapatnam.
He urged to sanction a new railway line from Visakhapatnam to Amravati with an accelerated target to complete it within two years.
