The Hindu Heritage Centre in Rotorua is delighted to announce the upcoming International Coffee Painting Exhibition featuring the renowned artist Mr. Uday Korde from Gujarat, India. Sponsored by the Gujarat State Lalit Kala Academy, this highly anticipated exhibition will take place from 18 October to 20 October 2024.
Mr. Uday Korde is a master of Rangoli (ancient Indian art), paintings, coffee portraits, and sketches. He has organised numerous workshops and exhibitions showcasing his expertise in coffee painting and rangoli. With over 300 coffee paintings to his name, including portraits of prominent personalities such as the President and Prime Minister of India, Mr. Korde has established himself as a distinguished figure in contemporary art.
Known for his innovative use of coffee powder as a medium, Mr. Korde transforms everyday materials into stunning works of art. His unique approach and dedication to this art form have earned him accolades and appreciation from celebrities and organisations alike. He holds the India Book of Records title for creating the maximum number of paintings using coffee powder. His story is truly inspirational for artists seeking to adopt unique methods of artistic expression.
The exhibition’s opening reception will be held on Friday, 18 October 2024, at 6:00 pm. We warmly invite the arts community in Rotorua to join us for an evening of art, culture, and conversation with Mr. Uday Korde. We will request the Rotorua Civic Arts Trust, the Rotorua Multicultural Council, The Arts Village Rotorua, and Creative Communities (Rotorua Scheme) to share this information with their artist databases and networks, encouraging participation in this event. This reception will provide a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist and gain deeper insights into his creative process and inspirations.
