Udaan charitable Trust organized its first workshop of 2026 on CV and cover letter writing and career journey at Balmoral Centre (Sandringham) on 28th February 2026.
This workshop was unique as it brought external technical specialists to deliver the sessions and interact with the audience.
Attended by over 20 participants at various walks of their career journey, the facilitators Ms. Monita Singh and Ms. Bela Divecha of Udaan Trust introduced the basic essential of CV, understanding CV through the lens of kiwi market and ways of integrating one’s profile at different platforms. The participants had keen interest when the facilitators took them through with using the AI (Artificial Intelligence) while preparing and applying for the jobs and using social media profiles like LinkedIn and other job search engines judiciously.
The Q&A during these sessions reflected the uptake of the information, clearing of doubts and the curiosity to learn something new amongst the participants.
To provide real example of one’s career journey and motivation to learn from, Udaan Trust had invited Mr. Arun Reddy G, Technical Specialist at a leading bank to talk about the changing job landscape in the IT market, and how can an individual adapt and lean ahead to get the place onto the interview stage. His session was interactive which also saw participants practising some of their interview techniques.
The second part of the workshop involved representative from Ministry of Social Development, Talk and share about role of W&I programmes/schemes benefitting an individual either looking for the job or out of job. This was a very crucial information received for the participant who felt supporting knowing there is government support available if needed and ways of accessing them timely.

Feedback from majority of the participants was positive, with many stating the session provided them with key take aways to take help them improve CV and cover letter. The participants also expressed for attending specific workshops focussing on specialised fields like IT, teaching to gain in-depth knowledge of the process of applying and qualifying for the job. Feedback has been helpful in reflecting and improving the programmes and services it delivers across communities in Auckland.
