The Indian Consulate since its opening in September of last year has provided services to more than 13000 applicants (passport renewals, Police Clearance Certificates, Surrender Certificates and Miscellaneous consular services). The Consulate will start providing OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) and Visa services from 15th June 2025. The office has shifted to 14th floor of SAP Building, Queen Street from 1st June 2025.

The new premises at the Consulate are access controlled, and Level 14 is only accessible b/w 9.30-12.30 and 1600-1700 hrs on working days. Applicants are once again requested to kindly book an appointment (https://www.cgiauckland.gov.in/apt/appointment.php) before visiting the Consulate for any service or query.

It is observed that still there are quite some incomplete applications being received by the Consulate. While the Consulate’s website (www.cgiauckland.gov.in) mentions the documents required for different services, still a lot of unsigned application, applications without payment proof, Personal Particular Form, Annexure-E, valid visa copy etc., proof to effect any change in existing passport etc. (minimum required for passport renewals),marriage certificate( in case spouse name is added), address proof (in case new Indian or New Zealand Address), Annexure-D (in case of minor’s application). While Consulate targets to inform the applicants regarding their incomplete applications, however, due to huge volume of applications, sometimes it is not possible to inform the applications well in time. The number of incomplete applications is increasing day by day and it is using more resources and time of the consulate. Consulate has also taken initiative to call applicants over the phone nos. Provided by them. However, in some cases, even after telephone calls and messages to emails provided by applicants, missed documents have not been received at Consulate’s end.

To help such applicants in processing their applications, the Indian Consulate in Auckland has decided to allow applicants who have grievances on their Passport or PCC applications or who have not received any information even after submission of their applications after 3 weeks can approach the Consulate for 1600-1700 hours every Friday (working days only). For this, no appointment is needed, and a nominee of the applicant can also visit the office with documents. Applicants for renewal of passports / PCC(Indian Passport Holder) / Surrender of Passport are advised to login at the portal (https://portal6.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html) to check the status of their application before visiting the Consulate in person. The objective is to assist applicants in filling up their applications with proper documents. Kindly, note the applicants might be required to wait for longer duration to assist them with their pending applications.
The Indian Consulate again advises applicants to kindly carefully check and enclose all the required documents along with their applications while sending their applications by post or in person.

The Indian Consulate also expresses its interest to work with local commercial chambers, kiwi and other entrepreneurs, news agencies, cultural associates, tourism companies, universities, Indian origin community associations to promote relationships between India and New Zealand.
