The Consulate General of India, Auckland provides public services strictly by prior appointment only. Please note the following operational hours:

  • Submission of Applications (In Person): 09:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Public Enquiries (In Person): 09:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Collection of Passports/Documents: 04:00 PM – 05:00 PM

Important: If no slots are available on your preferred date or time, you may submit your completed application by post. Mailed applications are processed with the same priority as those submitted in person.

CGI Auckland Relocating on 1st June 2025

The Consulate General of India, Auckland is moving to a new office location. Starting Monday, 1st June 2025, all appointments and services will be offered at:

Level 14, 151 Queen Street, Auckland 1010

If you have already booked an appointment before this date, you are requested to attend your appointment at the new address.

Jurisdiction of CGI Auckland

CGI Auckland caters to applicants living in the following regions:

  • Auckland
  • Waikato
  • Northland

If you reside outside these regions (e.g., Wellington, Christchurch, or other South Island areas), you must apply through the High Commission of India in Wellington.

Applications from outside the Auckland jurisdiction sent to CGI Auckland will not be processed and may result in delays.

Application Submission – Important Guidelines

Many applications have been submitted using forms intended for the High Commission of India (HCI), Wellington, which are not valid for processing at CGI Auckland. To avoid rejection:

  • Check your application form. It must display the Consulate General of India, Auckland at the top of the first page.
  • If the form shows HCI Wellington, it is incorrect for Auckland applicants.

To correct this:

  1. Go to the Passport Seva Portal
  2. Register using a new email ID (different from the one linked to Wellington).
  3. Select New Zealand – Auckland as your jurisdiction during registration.
  4. Fill out the new application form carefully.
  5. Submit the form online, then print, sign, paste your photo, and send it along with supporting documents and payment proof to CGI Auckland.

Bank Payment Instructions

If paying by bank transfer:

  • Enclose printed proof of payment with your application.
  • Ensure the following details are clearly visible on the proof:
    • Date of transaction
    • Amount paid
    • Account number of CGI Auckland

Missing or unclear payment details may delay processing.

Important Advisory: Avoid Travel Commitments

Applicants are strongly advised not to make travel bookings or commitments until their passport or service documents are received.
Confirmed travel plans do not qualify as a reason for urgent or expedited service.

Very Important–Please note that there will be no access to new office without any prior appointment.
