Kelston Girls’ College in West Auckland had to go into lockdown this afternoon after a member of the public entered the school grounds and broke a window. This incident happened following a fight involving a student the person knew.

The school initiated the lockdown shortly after 3 PM. In a message posted online, the school asked parents and the community not to come to the school or call, as this could disrupt the handling of the situation and potentially put everyone’s safety at risk.

Just a few minutes later, the school announced that the lockdown had ended, and everyone was safe and accounted for. The staff and students followed the instructions effectively during the incident.

The police reported that they were talking to a woman involved in the disturbance. Earlier in the afternoon, around 2:40 PM, a fight broke out between two students. Following this, a woman who knew one of the students entered the school grounds and broke a window. The police responded quickly and found the woman responsible. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the lockdown, which was a precautionary measure, was lifted shortly after.

Police are continuing their investigation but are not looking for anyone else connected to this incident.
