Two individuals are now in custody after a disturbing incident unfolded overnight in Glendene, West Auckland, leaving both men critically injured, according to authorities.

Police were summoned to an address on Scowns Way just before 2 a.m. in response to reports of disorder and injuries. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men, who were known to each other, suffering from severe injuries.

Rapid deployment of emergency services ensued, with three ambulances, two critical care units, and numerous police vehicles converging on the scene. Medical assistance was promptly administered to both individuals before they were urgently transported to the hospital for treatment.

Thankfully, the conditions of the injured men, aged 25 and 37, have stabilized, and their injuries are no longer deemed life-threatening, as confirmed by the authorities.

The 25-year-old and 37-year-old men have been apprehended and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. They are slated to make a court appearance at the Waitākere District Court today, likely through video conferencing arrangements.

Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to safety related to the incident, and they are not actively seeking any additional suspects at this time.

Due to the legal proceedings underway, law enforcement agencies have refrained from providing extensive commentary on the case. Nevertheless, a police presence remains at the scene on Scowns Way as investigations persist into the circumstances surrounding the altercation.

The exact nature of the confrontation leading to the critical injuries, as well as the dynamics between the individuals involved, continue to be subjects of interest as authorities endeavor to unravel the sequence of events.
