Li Jiaming, aka Li Ang, a human rights defender, a conscience of Tibet, a staunch ally of democratic countries such as India, New Zealand, the United States, Europe, South Korea, Japan, and Australia, etc., also a practitioner of the concept of “equality, freedom and the rule of law”.
Unfortunately, Mr. Li has a very miserable life, suffered from the Chinese Communist Party (hereinafter referred to as “CCP”)’s atrocities, false and wrongful accusations, defamation, and smear campaigns. However, in the past 20 years, no matter how difficult the conditions were, he has never given up his faith in seeking justice. Even he was prohibited from leaving the country, imprisoned, and tortured, even in the face of death threats, serious oppressions, and harassments from the CCP authorities and their proxies for decades, Mr. Li still constantly exposing the wrongdoings of the Chinese government and its genocidal policies carried out in Tibet. He has been unwaveringly fighting for the just cause of mankind!
In the year 2008 to 2009, Tibetan Uprising was a series of protests and demonstrations over the Chinese government’s mistreatment and persecution of Tibetans. The protests and demonstrations first started in Lhasa, and then spread to several provinces and throughout the Tibetan plateau, including into counties located outside the designated Tibet Autonomous Region. The top leaders of the Chinese Communist regime were furious about the Tibet Military Region was not rapidly in control of the situation. They suspected that Mr. Li and some others had been supporting, sympathizing, and protecting the persecuted Tibetan monks and compatriots. Among them, there was a pioneer of the Tibet independence movement who escaped from Lhasa custody to India for political asylum which completely changed Mr. Li’s life trajectory.leo li 01 leo 001 leo 002 leo 005leo 004

The ultimate authority of China believed that the situation of Tibet was developing in the direction of total loss of control, which was a communist authoritarian regime feared the most. Why the communist party branches are built in every military company, in the communities, and even at the grass-roots unit? On the street of Lhasa, there are sentries posted every few yards. The whole territory of Tibet is actively recruiting the Communist militia and local informants to spread all kinds of false information and provoke the civilians to fight against other civilians. CCP forced various ethnic groups, factions, and religions in Tibet to unify (brainwash) their thoughts and actions under the guide of the United Front Work to defend the Communist regime. Essentially, it is all about control and fool the common people, exploit the resources of Tibet. This is the very reason Tibet has been called the least free country in the world for many years.leo 006

Since many people not only from inside of Tibet, but also all over the world started to protest excessive use of force, over-policing and attacks on civilians of Communist tyranny in 2008-2009, which began to frighten the top leadership of China. In the context of the “Red Terror” of “Catch a bunch, imprison a bunch, kill a bunch”, Mr. Li was arrested and tortured by Chinese police. (Special task force). He was suffered from various insults, abuses, maltreatments, beatings, hunger, sleep deprivation, dog chains (Hands and feet shackled together by iron chains) and other tortures for a sustained period which caused him lumbar disc herniation until today, for intention of coercing Mr. Li to accuse other Tibetan and Han compatriots who involved in the uprising against the Communist dictatorship. Although Mr. Li said nothing, the Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Commu

nist Party of China Central Committee, Zhou Yongkang, and the Minister of Public Security of China, Meng Jianzhu, directly intervened in Mr. Li’s case, flagrantly instructed the Chinese judiciary to set Mr. Li up by using all the means. They put a “black hat” (Tibetan phrase means frame) to publicly humiliated Mr. Li as a “killer” and plunged him into the abyss of darkness, caused him a permanent social death. This is a typical political retaliation, made Mr. Li a scapegoat in reprisal.

Many people expressed indignation when they saw a good conscience hero whom they admired, was falsely accused of being a “prisoner”. They were all shocked and angry about this political persecution, defamation and injustice against Mr. Li, many legal experts and professors wrote letters to Chinese authorities to show their outrage! On a symposium of law experts at the Beijing Municipal High People’s Court, the President of the China Criminal Law Research Institute, also the Dean of the Law School of Beijing Normal University stood up bravely to criticize the Chinese judicial system, “In Mr. Li’s case, the Chinese police have not been held accountable for the torture and forgery of evidence yet. Now that there is no evidence against him, even cameras, mobile phone location, fiber materials, and all the other physical evidence to prove Mr. Li’s innocence, how can you still want to incriminate him? do we have “Law” in China?! We do not want to see a judge to take the blame for a political case!”
The Chinese courts are not independent, no jury trials in China, and judges must obey the instructions of superior leadership, serve as a play dough of political manipulation. Despite all the evidence proved that Mr. Li is completely innocent, he was still imprisoned. Even after his release, due to the Chinese Communist Party’s fear of exposing this State Crime against Mr. Li and Tibetans, their Crime of Aggression and Ethnic Cleansing in Tibet, CCP used their mouthpieces to publicize the Chinese Communist propaganda of Mr. Li’s case, with only falsehood and defamation against Mr. Li. No one is allowed to publish the truth behind his case. They warned Mr. Li that continuing to expose the truth of this case will only get him and his family killed. Moreover, CCP put Mr. Li under the National Security surveillance list, telling the public that Mr. Li is a so-called “enemy of the state”, a “security risk” and a “dangerous anti-communist”. Lots of discriminatory restrictions and social-engineering mockery targeted on him and his family, to push Mr. Li to the brink and easily send him to prison for torture again, CCP deliberately create a hostile and toxic environment to make all kinds of troubles to Mr. Li and his family.
Today, even though Mr. Li has escaped from the red hell China to overseas, Communist Chinese transnational repressions, harassments and death threats are still closely following him. The Chinese Communist Party and its proxies has even launched a coordinated smear campaign by spreading unsubstantiated rumors and slanders, fabricating massive libelous articles and videos to defame Mr. Li and his family on purpose. Despite facing enormous difficulties and numerous obstacles, Mr. Li remains optimistic: ” Ugly attacks won’t change a bit of beautiful soul. Perseverance and integrity have done wonders in all ages. I believe only love and truth will have the final word.”
It’s very touching. He is the man who stand tall for justice! A hero of the resistance. We sincerely hope that his persistence and good faith would eventually pull him through the rock bottom.
