DISHA NZ is a Charitable Trust to support diverse communities. The Trust has been providing social support services to the communities since April 2022.

For the past one-year DISHA NZ has organised various programs and activities in collaboration with government and non-governmental agencies for the benefit of the wider community. More than 400 people of diverse age groups have been benefited by the services rendered by DISHA NZ. The DISHA NZ Trust is supported by some very committed volunteers who work hard to achieve the desired goal.

DISHA NZ offers weekly day programs at two locations –

1. Balmoral Community Hall on every Wednesday and

2. New Lynn Community Centre on every Monday.

These programs are designed to keep our elderly people engaged and informed by the professionals to enhance their health and wellness.

The Trust has recently started the ‘DISHA – Ladies group’ to support migrant women in integrating into New Zealand society and to empower them through various health and wellbeing programs.

DISHA NZ offers weekly day programs at two locations –

These programs are designed to keep our elderly people engaged and informed by the professionals to enhance their health and wellness.

DISHA – Ladies group recently organised a five-week Migrant Women Wellbeing program with the support of The Asian Network Inc. (TANI), which was a huge success. The five-week program provided a platform for the participating women to learn about the New Zealand healthcare system from The Asian Network, the support services for migrants from DISHA NZ, Job seeking and resume writing from Workbridge, Early Childhood education, the significance of Cervical and Breast screening from Women Family Trust and White Ribbon – No to violence against women and drive confidently on NZ roads by Puketepapa Community driving school.

All the participants were very appreciative of DISHA NZ’s efforts in partnering with TANI to deliver a program to meet their requirements as new immigrants and long-time residents of this country.

All the DISHA NZ trustees are deeply committed to making a difference in our people’s lives and enhance the wellbeing and quality of their lives.

DISHA NZ Trust is organising an intergenerational program during the school holidays. We advise to follow DISHA NZ on their Facebook page or contact at dishanewzealand@gmail.com for more information about their services. -TIN Bureau
