As wrote in my previous editorials, the Corona situation in India is slowing getting in control and the number of new cases per day and related deaths are dropping in big way. Though the pandemic appears to have been making a shift toward southern states of India now, but it is still very much in control and getting managed by the respective states.

Some critics of BJP government and Modi in particular will always find something to complain about. They will only look at what is not done good, but the entire world is amazed and praising the same Indian government for so quickly and swiftly controlling the out-of-control situation in 3-4 weeks’ time. This is the charisma of Modi and his government that the whole world is now in a race to help India in some way or other. The aid is also pouring from the overseas Indians who are donating generously for their families and friends back home. The shortage of oxygen, hospital beds and vaccines has suddenly disappeared and instead now the news are coming about mismanagement and wastage in oxygen distribution, hoarding of oxygen cylinders being done by some political party goons, vaccines being thrown in bins and thousands of hospital beds now lying empty. Most of the negative reporting is being done from the opposition ruled states. These states kept demanding free vaccines from central government and instead of administering it to public they sold them to private hospitals to make money. Indian politics has become so toxic now that welfare of people is the last thing any politician is thinking of.

All the criticism and dirty politics is being done at the cost of peoples lives. All opposition parties are working in unison with only one goal in mind, how to make Modi government unpopular among the masses. Together they are trying every trick in book to derail Indian government’s any attempt to improve the situation in country whether it is about Corona or about improving the economy. Foreign media tools like Facebook and Twitter are being used by these parties to malign the Indian government and country’s image. Some main opposition parties have been propagating Corona as Indian Corona or calling it Indian variant, but they do not have guts to take name of the main perpetrator country, China. In fact, some opposition parties are doing advocacy to use Chinese vaccines instead of India’s own two vaccines. The same opposition parties are spreading lies about India’s own vaccines to confuse people. They cannot see Indian government succeeding in any of its efforts. This is so pathetic and shameful and only shows how the Indian politicians have reached to a gutter level politics.

These parties are actually scared about their own existence because despite of pandemic and the worst economic situations, Modi government is working at an extraordinarily fast pace. India’s economy that took 65 years to reach 1.5 trillion, has doubled in less than 7 years’ time during Modi regime. Now they aim to make it a 5 trillion economy very soon. Since these opposition parties see no way to stop Modi from taking India to newer heights, the best way they find to pull him down, is to create hurdles on his way and spread lies about everything his government is doing. The sad thing in the entire scenario is that some people get swayed away by these lies and fake news and start spreading the same lies to others to create a fake narrative.

The toxic thought process of some corrupt Indian politicians has not spared foreign shores as well. Some people under the influence of such ideologies are happily following these leaders and do not mind spreading lies and fake narratives about their own motherland. Can we all the Indians, stay together at least in these times of crisis and do not spread lies and false news about our motherland. This will be the biggest contribution to our country to make it a great nation again. – Yugal Parashar
