For the first time, a band of musicians from the North Island known as Moksha Base, and Dunedin Tamil Society (DTS) joined hands to organise a Facebook Live musical concert on May 23. Called Puthiya Jananam, the event was a live jam session with singers Ayesha, Anjali and Maathangi from Moksha Base.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Luxmanan Selvanesan, President of DTS informed, “I had interviewed Moksha Base in 2019 and immediately fell in love with the team and admired their energy and dedication to music. We planned to host them in Dunedin for one of our events. Then Covid hit. So we discussed the possibility of an online event, planned for it, and conducted the event four days later.”
The event went on for over one hour, and has already gathered more than two thousand views. It was an attempt to unite Tamil people from around the world during the ongoing pandemic through the universal language of music, noted the organisers.
