Bharatiya Mandir supports the New Zealand Government’s decision to protect people’s safety and well-being. Therefore, the Mandir shall close on Wednesday, 25th March at 8 pm and shall remain closed for next four weeks. Towards the end of these four weeks, we shall await direction from the Government, when to reopen the Mandir.

Please note that all cultural, social and community activities at the Mandir shall also stop during these four weeks. However, the educational programmes shall continue remotely. This means that whilst sitting in their own homes, the students shall learn languages, music and games via internet or through other electronic devices Our dedicated volunteer teachers have already put together these programmes in electronic versions.

Teachers are ready and available to help the students to continue learning from their own homes over the next four weeks.

Bharatiya Mandir is the first purpose built Hindu temple in New Zealand. During its long history, it is the first time that the Mandir has been closed to the worshippers. Let us pray for an early end to this pandemic and return to normalcy.

Please be safe and stay healthy.

Together, we shall get through these difficult times.

With Prayers

Hemant Prashar

President

Bharatiya Mandir
