In a close and exciting final played last weekend, Tamil Pasanga edged out the team called Firangi by seven runs, to lift the third Ara All Nations T20 Cricket Tournament in Christchurch. It was a joint organisation by the Christchurch Metro Cricket Association (CMCA), and Christchurch Multicultural Council (CMC).

“Games were keenly contested, with the morning round pitting the Cornered Tigers against Firangi, and 11 Kings of Pubjab against Tamil Pasanga. The way the draw worked out, these games became semi-finals, with Firangi and Tamil Pasanga winning their respective matches,” said CMCA in a Facebook post, also thanking CMC and the Christchurch City Council, for partnering and delivering “this important event on the CMCA Calendar”.

Meanwhile, Surinder Tandon, President of CMC, added, “There were 12 teams in all representing diverse ethnicities. Tournaments like these help in fostering unity in diversity, social inclusion, integration, harmony and fellowship.”
