Hindu Youth New Zealand (HYNZ), in collaboration with the Migrant Careers Support Trust (MCST) and AUT Indians in Kiwi-Land Association, had organised an event last weekend in Auckland titled, Building your Kiwi future.
Murali Magesan, President of HYNZ noted, “Our goal was to provide a platform to international as well as domestic students, to come up and discuss the issues they face in communications, networking, and immigration [for international students]. We want to make all these three facets – which are very crucial in gaining employment – easier for every student who chooses to study in New Zealand.”
Garry Gupta of MCST added, “When the Hindu Youth New Zealand approached us, we were very excited, as our trust also aims at supporting migrants and ethnic workers to excel in their careers. For this we often conduct regular workshops, as well as specialised workshops sometimes for women, and professionals in the later half of their careers.”
Magesan also informed that his organisation’s next big event will be the fourth NZ Hindu Youth Conference, taking place February 29, next year. “And it is open to youth (age < 35) from all communities, backgrWounds, and faith. It is an opportunity to discuss the things that matter to young people as well as creating opportunities for young people to succeed, whether it be in business, politics, media, etc.”.
