In the continuation of my India centric series of write ups, India Inc. has started showing the signs of resurgence, pretty much in every sphere of life. While the world is still coming to term as how quickly the Indian government could contain the second wave of Covid, now its India’s time to surprise the world again with the speed they are vaccinating people in the country. The country is vaccinating almost double the number of people of the entire New Zealand’s population, in a day. Government’s target is to start vaccinating 1 crore people every day from 1st July. This way the government intends to vaccinate around 1.4 billion people of the country by end of the year.

Like always, the biggest problem for the government in moving everything smoothly are the hurdles being created by India’s opposition parties combined. Currently the frustration of these parties is at its peak as best of their efforts to derail things and all dirty tricks they play, are failing miserably every time. According to America’s data intelligence firm Morning Consult’s survey worldwide, Indian prime Minister Narendra Modi still tops the list of world’s most popular leaders. In this world leader’s rating, he leaves behind world leaders like Joe Biden, Vladimir Putin, Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel to name a few. This news is a big setback to India’s opposition parties, and they cannot understand why all their conspiracy theories and efforts to demonise Modi are not yielding results. These parties have reached to the lowest level of politics and are happy to go against country’s interests and even joining hands with India’s enemy countries. It is so ironical to see that why Indian politicians cannot see beyond their own personal or party interests.

Another big news the country made in second week of June was of India’s all-time high foreign reserves that crossed the 600 billion mark, for the first time in India’s history. Even during the Covid and the lockdown period, the inflow of the FDI continued uninterrupted which shows the faith of foreign companies in India’s growth and in its leadership. While criticising Modi government one should not forget that in the late 80’s and early 90’s India’s foreign reserves had reached to an all-time low that we had money only to import for 15 days. The then government had to pledge 47 tons of our gold as mortgage with Bank of England and Bank of Japan just to secure 400 million dollars to avoid default of overseas payments. It was an event of national shame and see the irony, the same bunch of people are peaching Modi government about good governance.

Modi government has been able to achieve this feat and countless other major accomplishments in last seven years because the billions of dollars’ worth of public money that used to be siphoned from the system by corrupt leadership and corrupt politicians has been stopped. We have an honest leader at the top who is making others also to follow his path and instilling in them the value of hard work, honesty, and integrity for the nation. From the defence perspective, India is now a superpower to reckon and again this big change has also come in last 7 years’ time only. Previous Congress led government did not equip our forces with the required weaponry citing financial constraints but there was no dearth of billions of dollars’ worth of scams and swindling of funds every now and then.

Its time now for every Indian to rise above from the level of parties and political affiliations and work towards building a new, strong, and resurgent India. We can only get the recognition and the respect from the world if our country is strong and for this, we all will have to contribute. It is not one person’s job but we all must come together as Indians and become a partner in the nation building. -Yugal Parashar
