To the Editor, New Zealand Media, The Hindu Foundation of New Zealand (HFNZ) vehemently condemns the barbaric terrorist attack on innocent Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir,India on April 22, 2025. This heinous crime, which claimed the lives of at least 26 individuals, is unequivocally the work of The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, and stands as a monstrous assault on humanity. These Islamist terrorists deliberately singled out Hindu tourists, verifying their religious identity through vile tactics like checking for circumcisions and demanding recitation of the Islamic kalma, ensuring their murderous intent was reserved for non-Muslims. This targeted slaughter is a direct attack on the values of peace, unity, and cultural diversity that New Zealand cherishes. We mourn the loss of the victims, whose lives were stolen by these Islamist terrorists Our hearts are with their families, and we pray for the swift recovery of the injured. We urge the New Zealand media to amplify this condemnation. The Pahalgam attack is a stark warning that terrorism threatens every nation’s security. We demand justice for the victims and an end to such atrocities, which fuel hatred and destabilize communities. To honor the fallen, HFNZ will participate in a candlelight protest to reaffirm our commitment to peace. Let this tragedy unite us against Islamist terrorism. We invite all New Zealanders to join us in mourning and condemning this crime, ensuring the victims’ memory fuels our resolve for justice.
