The Bihar Jharkhand Sabha of Australia and New Zealand (BJSM) hosted vibrant Hartalika Teej celebrations at the Balmoral Community Centre on Tuesday 27 August, where several families gathered to perform the traditional Teej Katha Puja with devotion and cultural pride.

The event began with rituals and prayers, followed by a small food offering arrangement for participating families, creating an atmosphere of togetherness and festivity. Women adorned in traditional attire observed the puja, reflecting the rich heritage of Bihar and Jharkhand.

A special highlight of the evening was the presence of Mr. Madan Mohan Sheti, Consulate General of India in Auckland, who attended the celebration along with his wife, Mrs. Swagatika Mohanti, to honour and support the preservation of Indian culture abroad. Their participation added immense significance to the occasion, as they joined community members in marking the festival.

The event was led under the guidance of BJSM President Bhrigu Bhaskar, General Secretary Ravi Gupta, and Treasurer Sujata Kumar, whose collective efforts ensured a memorable celebration.
