This story is particularly for Immigration New Zealand, which recently started viewing the still very-popular and prevalent form of marriages in the Indian sub-continent, differently
Wikipedia is world’s most popular crowd-sourced encyclopedia, and it has a detailed entry on “Arranged marriage in the Indian subcontinent”. This may be enough for anyone willing and open to develop an understanding of what culturally-arranged marriages are, and why this form of marriage has prevailed and persisted with time.
But for those still in doubt, watch out for the third season of Arranged on New Zealand’s very own Channel Three, which “will take viewers inside the diverse, extravagant and fascinating engagement and wedding ceremonies of our ethnic and religious communities”, as noted by the Government agency NZ On Air, in an October release.
Titled “Aoteatoa’s super-diversity celebrated in hours and hours of new screen content”, NZ On Air adds in the release that it has granted up to $730,530 for Arranged 3 [eight episodes of 44 minutes each] which will be produced by Notable Pictures for Channel Three.
As is obvious, Arranged’s first two seasons – total of 15 episodes – are available on Channel Three on demand. And if you are willing, the channel has already started inviting applications on it’s website for Arranged Season 3. It says, “Arranged is now casting for its third season, to air on Three. If you or someone you know is seeking to find the perfect arranged marriage partner or will be entering into a arranged marriage, contact the show at arrangedshow@gmail.com”.
