Registrations for the Katha are now closed since the numbers have crossed 10,000 for the 2-day event but more people are expected to turn up on the day. Bageshwar Dham Sarkar is expected to pay visit to a couple of Mandirs in Auckland, but the details of his visits are not made public.
Promoter of the event Richard Kumar says this will be one of its kind events that has never happened before in New Zealand and thousands of his followers are eagerly waiting to listen to his discourse. Bageshwar Dham aka Dhirendra Shastri sought to popularity for his strong views about proclaiming India a Hindu (nation) Rashtra since there is no country in the world which fulfils aspirations for over a billion followers of Hindu religion. There are several countries in the world where the state recognise religion as the official religion of that country, but this privilege is not available to Hindus. In fact, the partition of the country in 1947 was done on religious lines since one community didn’t want to live with majority Hindus. Countries that separated from India became staunch fundamentalist countries and India gradually turned into a secular nation. A large number of Hindus feel betrayed by the leadership of that era, who in the name of secularism did nothing to safeguard the interests of the majority community. This fraudulent term ‘secularism’ was coined for Hindus by the then leadership only to use by the Hindu community. Followers of all other religions wear their faith up their sleeves. Pandit Dhirendra Shastri represents those supressed sentiments of millions of Hindus across the globe; hence he strongly propagates the idea of a Hindu Rashtra.
Bageshwar Dham Sarkar’s popularity has surged in past few years primarily due to his ability to provide spiritual solutions to his followers with the help of the divine powers he is believed to possess. Dhirendra Shastri has not received any formal education beyond school level but his command on Hindu scriptures is superlative. He is believed to have attained the divine powers through his Sadhanas (penance) and under guidance from his Guru.
His followers are spread across the globe, and he is regularly reaching out to them to help them get rid of their problems. Pandit Dhirendra Shastri has been running many charities work at his Ashram at Bageshwar Dham where millions of people come to pay their obeisances to Lord Bageshwar Hanuman. Every year, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri helps hundreds of poor and destitute young boys and girls by marrying them for no cost and all expenses are born by his Ashram.
