The Auckland-based Nepalese Literature Society recently held an award ceremony to honour Dinesh Adhikari with the New Zealand Nepalese Literature Award 2020, in recognition of his contributions to Nepalese literature. Suzanne Weld from The New Zealand Society of Authors, PEN NZ Inc. was also present at the occasion. There were also music and dance performances on songs written by Adhikari during the evening. Poem of other local writers including those by Pashupati Karmacharya, Binod Bhaukajee, Babu Raja Maharjan, Om Basnet, Arjun Karki, Yuvaraj Adhikari, Shreedhar Basnyat, Sumitra Pradhan, and Dr. Birendra KC, were also recited.
