The two social organizations, which promote and celebrate Malayali culture in the Garden City – Kerala Cultural Forum (KCF) and Christchurch Kerala Association (CKA) organised their Christmas celebrations in December.

Ajesh Jose of CKA informed, “Around 200 people attended our celebrations at the Templeton Community Hall. The master of ceremony were the RJ s from Namaste Kerala show, which is broadcast on PlainsFM every week. We had a quiz and prizes were given out. Prizes for CKA’s cricket, and basketball competitions were also distributed. One of main attraction was the Nativity Play (story of Christmas) performed by the CKA kids. Rev.Fr.Job Thaikalamury delivered the Christmas message, and a cake was cut. We also had a Santa Claus arriving mid-show with sweets for children. A series of cultural programmes with songs and dances were also staged.”
