Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of rampant unemployment in the country and exuded confidence that PM Modi will not become Prime Minister again this year.

“There are 2 problems in front of the INDIA bloc. One is rich-poor disparity and the other is unemployment. ‘Congress party inn dono samasya ko ek jhatke se thik karne jaa rahi hai’… A list will be prepared of the poor people in the country. From every poor family, a woman’s name will be selected,” Rahul Gandhi addressing a rally in Bhojpur.
He further said that the name of a woman from each family will be selected and on July 5, crores of women will get Rs 8,500 in their bank accounts.
“The INDIA bloc will form a government on June 4… On 5th July, Rs 8,500 will be credited to the bank accounts of crores of poor women in the country…This will continue from July to August to September, October, November, December and so on ‘thaka-thak, thaka-thak andar’… And when this takes place if the media will raise any questions, we will say that we will double this amount,” he added.
He further hit out at Adani and claimed that the people are getting electricity bills in the thousands because Adani purchases coal from foreign.
“The electricity bills you get in thousands are because Adani buys coal from foreign, and till the time that coal arrives here, Adani increases its price, and the government buys that coal at higher prices to help him. Who gives the money? You,” said Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress leader in the rally also called up the Aginveer named Vikas Kumar and asked whether he liked the scheme, the Aginveer responded saying “no”.
“Narendra Modi’s Agniveer scheme is an insult to the country’s army and the patriotism of the youth,” he said.
The Congress leader said that the INDIA bloc is voted to power, it would scrap the Agnipath scheme.
“He (PM Modi) says that there will be two kinds of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. One, a normal jawan or officer whose family will get a pension, status, and all other facilities. The other, a poor family’s son who is named Agniveer; this Agniveer will neither get the status of ‘shaheed’ nor will he get any pension or any other facility. The INDIA bloc, if voted to power, will throw the Agnipath scheme into the dustbin,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi also said that if the INDIA bloc forms the government after June 4, it would open all closed industries and fill up three million job vacancies.
“Jiase hi Tejashwi ji ne Bihar mai job diya uncle ji (Nitish Kumar) bhaag gai. Like that INDIA bloc will provide 30 lakh jobs to the youth after it comes to power. PM Modi will not become the Prime Minister again this year after the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. This is my guarantee from this state. As he did not provide jobs to youth, brought Agniveers, he is quite on Caste Census,” he asserted.
Under the INDIA alliance agreement in Bihar, the RJD is vying for 26 seats, Congress for nine, and the Left parties for the remaining five out of the state’s 40 Lok Sabha constituencies.
While, in the NDA, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest on 17 seats, Janata Dal-United (JDU) on 16 seats, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) (Ram Vilas) on 5 seats, Hindustani Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha on one seat each in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Elections in Bihar are contested in all seven phases. With 40 Lok Sabha constituencies, the fourth highest among all States and Union Territories, Bihar holds a crucial position in shaping Indian politics.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA, consisting of BJP, JDU ( (Janata Dal-United), and LJP (Lok Janshakti Party), secured victory by taking the lead on 39 out of 40 seats. Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal), INC (Indian National Congress), and RLSP (Rashtriya Lok Samta Party), only managed to secure one seat.-ANI
