Situated at 225 Malfroy Road, Rotorua, the Hindu Heritage Centre stands as a symbol of cultural richness and inclusivity. After months of planning and preparation, the Centre is delighted to extend a warm invitation to individuals, families, and community organisations to utilise our facilities for their regular activities.

We have our weekly Hindi classes every Saturday, running from 3 to 4 pm. These classes are designed for anyone interested in learning Hindi. Our hall is now available for meditation sessions every Thursday evening, welcoming all members of the community. Looking ahead, we are in talks with experienced instructors to potentially introduce music and dance classes soon. Furthermore, we are actively planning regular gatherings tailored for Hindu elders, Hindu women, and Hindu youth, with the aim of fostering community connection and engagement. They may be setting up a community garden. Stay tuned for further updates on these exciting developments!
The Hindu Heritage Centre is devoted to preserving, promoting, and celebrating Hindu heritage, fostering cultural enrichment, and spiritual nourishment within the community. To achieve this, the Centre plans to host regular classes in Rangoli (an ancient Indian art form) and Mehndi (temporary skin decorations using a paste created with henna), yoga sessions, reciting Hanuman Chalisa, traditional music and dance classes, and Hindu scripture classes; organise educational programmes, workshops, and seminars to deepen understanding of Hindu traditions and practices; celebrate festivals, host events, showcase music and dance performances, and curate exhibitions that highlight the richness of Hindu culture. Through these efforts, we aim to actively engage and enrich the vibrant community of Rotorua.

Beyond cultural exchange, the Centre will serve as a venue for community events, meetings, and private functions. Collaboration with the Rotorua Multicultural Council and its member organisations are being discussed. Recently, Dr Margriet Theron, President of Rotorua M
