Acclaimed Indo-Australian singer, composer, and performer Siyer has been featured on the newly GRAMMY® nominated album Shayan by award-winning pianist and composer Charu Suri. Siyer lends his voice to “Inner Peace”, a serene piece based on Raga Desh that bridges Indian classical traditions with global contemporary sounds.

This milestone makes Siyer the first Indian-Australian artist to be featured on a GRAMMY® nominated album, marking a proud moment for the Australian-Indian creative community.

Shayan is the latest creation of Charu Suri, an internationally celebrated jazz pianist and composer who became the first Indian-born artist to premiere original works at Carnegie Hall. Known for blending jazz with Indian ragas and sacred themes, Suri’s music has been praised globally for its innovation, spirituality, and emotional depth.

Charu Suri is an award-winning jazz pianist, composer, and recording artist originally from India and now based in the United States. A GRAMMY®-nominated artist, Charu is celebrated for her pioneering fusion of Indian ragas, jazz harmonies, and world music textures

GRAMMY® voting member since 2023, Siyer has been in official GRAMMY® Award consideration for four consecutive years (2022–2025) for his original work as singer, composer, and lyricist. His acclaimed album Rain of Bhakti, created in collaboration with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer P.A. Deepak, fellow Indian-Australian musician Bobby Beebob, and Joshua Pereira won a Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards, earning praise for its seamless fusion of devotion and modern artistry.

With over 600 live performances worldwide, Siyer has shared the stage with icons including Shankar Mahadevan, Udit Narayan, and Sadhna Sargam, and has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine. He has performed the Indian National Anthem at the Parliament of Victoria, and at major venues such as the MCG and SCG.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Siyer said:

Inner Peace represents the universal language of calm and connection. To bring that to life on a GRAMMY®-nominated album is a true honour for me and for Australia’s growing Indian-heritage music scene. I am honoured that Charu asked me to be on this.”

Shayan is available now on all major streaming platforms.
