The scene was filled with four police cars, one fire truck, two ambulances, and a first response vehicle, all working together to provide assistance. A representative from Fire and Emergency New Zealand mentioned that they sent a fire truck to the location and supported other emergency teams there.

A photographer at the scene described the incident as occurring at a climbing area above a popular walking trail. The climber, part of a climbing group, appeared to have fallen from a significant height, more than 80 meters. Other climbers could also be seen on the rock face, continuing their activities.

This unfortunate event highlights the dangers of rock climbing, especially in high and challenging areas. Emergency services acted swiftly, but the situation remains critical as they work to provide the necessary care for the injured man.
