Dhirendra Krishan Shastri, aka Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, left an indelible mark during his five-day visit to New Zealand from August 2nd to August 7th, 2024. His presence created a wave of devotion and enthusiasm, drawing thousands of followers eager to experience his spiritual teachings and blessings.
The centrepiece of his visit was the Hanumant Katha discourse held at the Trust Arena in Henderson, Auckland. Over the course of two days, nearly 12,000 people gathered to listen to his powerful spiritual messages. The sheer size of the crowd was a testament to the deep reverence and admiration that Bageshwar Dham Sarkar commands. Devotees travelled from various parts of New Zealand and beyond to be a part of this significant event. The atmosphere inside the arena was electric, filled with a palpable sense of anticipation and devotion. Bageshwar Dham Sarkar’s words resonated deeply with the audience, many of whom were moved to tears by the spiritual depth and clarity of his teachings.


Beyond the main event, Bageshwar Dham Sarkar’s visit included stops at several temples across Auckland. Among these was the historic Bharatiya Mandir in Sandringham, New Zealand’s oldest temple. His arrival at these sacred sites was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, as hundreds of followers gathered to greet him and seek his blessings. At Bharatiya Mandir, approximately 300 people eagerly awaited his presence, a clear reflection of the profound respect and love his followers hold for him. These visits were not just moments of spiritual significance but also opportunities for the community to come together in shared reverence and celebration.
The excitement surrounding Bageshwar Dham Sarkar’s visit was extraordinary. The fervour with which people responded to his presence was reminiscent of the adoration typically reserved for major celebrities. At each location, crowds jostled to get closer, hoping for just a glimpse or a moment of connection with their beloved guru. The intensity of the devotion was so strong that it led to near-stampede situations at some locations. Yet, despite the frenzy, Bageshwar Dham Sarkar remained calm and composed, embodying the very serenity and spiritual strength that draw so many to him.
Throughout his visit, Bageshwar Dham Sarkar delivered a consistent and powerful message of unity. In his speeches, he urged his followers to remain united in the face of increasing challenges to Sanatan Dharma. He emphasized the importance of setting aside differences of caste, creed, and region to stand together as one community. His call to unity was a reminder of the strength that lies in collective faith and the need to protect and preserve Sanatan Dharma against any threats. This message resonated deeply with his devotees, reinforcing their commitment to their spiritual path and to each other.
Bageshwar Dham Sarkar’s magnetic personality is complemented by his simplicity, wit, and an innate ability to connect with his followers on a deeply personal level. During his stay in Auckland, he granted Guru Diksha to hundreds of devotees, offering them blessings for good health and well-being through prayers to Lord Hanuman.
Earlier, on his arrival, hundreds of people waited at Auckland airport until midnight to welcome him. This outpouring of devotion continued throughout his visit, with each event drawing large crowds eager to be in his presence.

On the evening of August 7th, Bageshwar Dham Sarkar departed for India, leaving behind a devoted and inspired following. Although his departure was bittersweet, he left his followers with a promise: he would return to New Zealand in the coming year.
