First-of-Its-Kind Event for Indian Diaspora Showcases Unity and Community Participation

In a celebration of musical talent and community spirit, New Zealand is set to witness a one-of-a-kind event tailored exclusively for its vibrant Indian community.
‘Tulip Antakshari with Annu Kapoor – Ab New Zealand Khelega’ promises to be a thrilling journey of music, camaraderie, and cultural exchange, marking a significant milestone in the country’s cultural landscape.
The event kicked off with auditions held on April 20th at the Balmoral Community Hall, where talented teams showcased their passion for Bollywood music. From these auditions, the most promising talents were selected to embark on a transformative journey of mentorship and community bonding.
In the lead-up to the main spectacle, participants have been actively involved in a series of mentorship sessions, offering invaluable opportunities to hone their craft and deepen their connection to India’s rich musical heritage.
The climax of this musical odyssey will take place on August 24th at the prestigious Victory Convention Centre, where the legendary host of Antakshari, Annu Kapoor, will preside over the evening alongside New Zealand’s beloved singer and event organizer, Ashish Ramakrishnan, as co-host. This event promises to be a spectacle of music and entertainment, uniting music lovers from the Indian subcontinent and beyond in a celebration of diversity, harmony, and cultural exchange.
But beyond showcasing musical talent, Tulip Antakshari with Annu Kapoor aims to foster a sense of belonging and pride within the Indian community while embracing and celebrating the diversity that enriches New Zealand. It’s an opportunity for individuals to come together through the power of music, creating lasting memories and forging meaningful connections within the community. At the live event on 24th August, audience engagement will be paramount, ensuring an interactive and thrilling musical experience with surprises in store for attendees.
The brainchild behind this remarkable event is Ashish Ramakrishnan, himself a winner of Zee TV Close Up Antakshari, one of India’s most popular TV shows hosted by Annu Kapoor. Ashish’s dream of bringing this concept to New Zealand aims to offer fellow New Zealanders the same enriching experience he had.
The show is brought to you by Ashish Ramakrishnan, Basant Madhur, and Dinesh Raniga, under the production of Bendith Media and Aariaa Events. Tickets for the live event can be purchased from the organisers directly (Ashish 02108385100 | Basant 0210357954 | Dinesh 021709884) or online at www.trybooking.com/nz
The trio comprising Ashish, Basant, and Dinesh previously orchestrated one of New Zealand’s most memorable events to date – New Zealand’s first ever Bollywood concert featuring a live Symphony Orchestra comprising 45 musicians, which sold out to massive acclaim. Now, this formidable team returns with Tulip Antakshari with Annu Kapoor – Ab New Zealand Khelega. As the clock ticks down to the main event on August 24th, anticipation mounts for an evening of music, unity, and community involvement like no other, and the event aims to leave an indelible mark on New Zealand’s cultural landscape, demonstrating the profound impact of music in bridging divides and fostering unity.-TIN Bureau
