The event featured a vibrant array of stalls offering ethnic food, art, crafts, and clothing. Notable attendees included Kay Thomas, Chair of the Whau Local Board, Carlos Cheung, MP of Mt Roskill, and Tony Rea and Celeste Cormack, Trustees of the New Windsor Community Hub Charitable Trust.
Kainga Ora generously provided the first 50 cups of coffee to the community, adding to the festive atmosphere. A highlight of the event was the community engagement initiative by Tamariki Makaurau Ethnic Police, whose Ethnic car was a standout attraction, sparking conversations and photo opportunities with attendees.
Attendees also enjoyed free Henna, face painting, and interactions with Cartoon Character performers, along with a diverse range of mouth-watering ethnic cuisine. With over 500 attendees and more than 20 stallholders, the event was deemed a resounding success.
Reflecting on the event, Nobia Fawad emphasized the vision of the Hub, stating that New Windsor is a place where differences are celebrated, and people are connected to both the community and each other.
