Two Jain sisters have etched their names in history by clinching the Radio Tarana Idol title consecutively in 2023 and 2024. This remarkable feat marks the first instance of siblings winning this prestigious singing competition in back-to-back years over its fifteen-year history. Radio Tarana’s commitment to nurturing exceptional musical talent has provided a platform for artists to showcase their innate abilities.
Last year, Avishi Jain, at the tender age of 13, made headlines as the youngest winner of the title. Following in her footsteps, her elder sister Rashi Jain secured the coveted title in 2024, making them the first sibling duo to achieve this honour.
Rashi, who has been immersed in Hindustani classical music alongside her sister, honed her musical skills at Westlake Girls High School, where she also delved into music production. Collaborating with her younger sister, they have been actively composing and producing their own music, sharing their creations and covers with their audience. Currently pursuing Clinical Psychology at the University of Auckland, Rashi’s talents extend beyond music to include cooking, digital design, and dance.
Participating in the Radio Tarana Idol 2024 competition has provided Rashi with invaluable opportunities to elevate her musical prowess and refine her artistic expression. Each challenge she faced during the competition has fuelled her determination to push her boundaries and showcase her versatility in singing.
