- The toss is yet to happen (as of Sunday, March 10th, 6:13 NZDT).
- Both teams will be hoping for a change in fortunes compared to the first Test. Australia dominated with the bat, with fifties from Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Travis Head, while their bowlers, led by Pat Cummins’ four wickets, bundled out New Zealand cheaply.
Day 2 Recap:
- Australia bundle out on 256 while Marnus Labuschagne missed a ton and settled at 90.
- New Zealand fight back with a 100+ run stand between Tom Latham and Kane Williamson. End the day at 134/2 with Latham and Ravindra at the crease.
Looking Ahead:
- The pitch at Hagley Oval is known to be batting-friendly, so we can expect some high scores in the coming days.
- New Zealand will be desperate to bounce back and level the series. They might consider including a spinner like Mitchell Santner in their bowling attack to provide some variety.
- Australia, on the other hand, will be aiming to replicate their winning formula from Wellington. Their pace attack, especially the experience of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, will be crucial to their success.
