Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The hysteria of ‘Ayodhya in Eden Park’ event has taken over Auckland city which is being celebrated to commemorate the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla idol at Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on 22nd January. Several Mandirs, community and religious organisations from across New Zealand have joined hands to commemorate this historic occasion in Auckland for all believers of Hindu faith. This free to all public event will take place at the Outer Oval of Eden Park Stadium on Sunday 21st January from 1 pm to 6 pm.
Apart from several religious presentations, Shri Ram Yagya (holy fire) will start from 1 pm, some dance and cultural performances including Ram Lila are also slated to be depicted during the five-hour long program. An audio-visual presentation will also be made depicting the history and struggle of Shri Ram Mandir movement of over 500 years. This is being done to put the records straight in the right perspective for our young generations. It’s a very proud, historic, and once in a lifetime occasion for all the’ Sanatanis’ world over hence everyone is eager to contribute in some way or other. The organisers of the event Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav Committee NZ is leaving no stone unturned to make this event memorable for all New Zealanders and preparations for the same are in full swing now.
The Event catering committee is also busy making arrangements to serve refreshments and tea to all participants at the start of program and later early dinner will be served to all attendees from 4 pm onwards. The organisers expect around 8000-10,000 people to take part in the historic event and arrangements for are going at war footing to serve food to a large number of gathering at the event. The catering committee is working under supervision of renowned restaurateur Shivani Arora who is coordinating this mammoth task with help of various suppliers and contributors. Several Mandirs and sweet shop and restaurant owners have come forward offering their help by supplying food items for the historic event. The catering committee had a meeting of all stakeholders at Bharatiya Mandir to finalise everything regarding this. Bharatiya Mandir Religious Chairperson Anil Sharma said the zeal and enthusiasm of believers is very heart warming and everyone wants to be part of the history in the making. Anil Sharma further said that Mandir is preparing 6000 ‘Panch Meva Prasad’ packets to distribute to devotees coming to Eden Park event.
The ‘Ayodhya in Eden Park’ event organising committee has invited Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and several other Ministers and political leaders to the Sunday event. This is first time in New Zealand that a Hindu religious public event of such a mammoth scale is being organised and this itself speaks volume about the importance of the event.
