New Zealand Police organised a Social Cohesion meeting of ethnic community leaders on Tuesday 19th April at Seniors Hall at Fickling Convention Centre at Three Kings in Auckland. The meeting was a part of NZ Police Ethnic Wing’s regular liaising with different ethnic communities for last many years but was disrupted by Covid restrictions in past two years.
The topic of the meeting was Child Protection and how to make the children safer in our community. Detective Sargent Alfred Zhou from the Child Protection Team was the guest speaker who spoke in length explaining the audience about the early signs to notice a child abuse and how to address such a sensitive issue in process to safeguard the vulnerable child. Many community leaders representing different ethnicities asked questions to the speaker to have better awareness and understanding on this very important issue widespread in our society. An early dinner was served to the attendees before the meeting started. -TIN Bureau
