The first Indian born officer in New Zealand Police, Mandeep Kaur Sidhu, has been promoted as a Senior Sergeant at NZ Police headquarters at Wellington. Mandeep Kaur joined New Zealand Police as Frontline Officer in 2004, later working with Road Policing, Family Violence, the Investigation Support Unit, Neighbourhood Policing and Community Policing.
She was working as an Ethnic Peoples Community Relations Officer, based at Henderson Police Station in Waitemata before being promoted as Senior Sergeant now, to be based at Wellington NZ Police headquarters.
Mandeep is a very friendly, approachable and people’s person. She is also very religious person and would go to worship at local Gurudwara regularly. With her achievements, Mandeep has made the local Punjabi community of New Zealand very proud. The Indian News extends its heartiest congratulations on her feat.
