YSRCP NRI New Zealand, a Telugu community group in Auckland, led by Anand Yeddula, organised a blood donation camp on September 2, which was the 11th death anniversary of late Andhra leader Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. The blood donation event was supported by some stage legislatures and senior government officials from Andhra Pradesh, India. They appreciated and sent congratulatory messages to Yeddula and team. The below community leaders from Auckland, New Zealand also supported the event and appreciated the efforts of ‘YSRCP NRI NZ’ team: Bala Beeram, National Party MP Candidate for Kelston, Srilatha Magathala, President NZ Telugu Association, and Jagadishwar Reddy, Ex-President NZ Telugu Association. “Limited donations were allowed per group due to Covid-19. Blood donation camp was organised adhering to the lockdown restrictions and social distancing rules,” informed Yeddula.

Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, was the 14th chief minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.), serving from 2004 to 2009. Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, popularly known as YSR, was born on July 8, 1949, in Pulivendula in Andhra Pradesh, India. Dr. YSR died in a helicopter crash in the dense Nallamala forest on 3rd of September, 2009. His unexpected death has been a loss not only to the state of Andhra Pradesh but also to the entire country as a whole. YSR entered active politics in 1978 and contested elections four times to enter the state Legislative Assembly and an equal number of times to enter the Lower House of Parliament. A significant achievement of YSR is that he has won all the elections he contested. In a career spanning 25 years, YSR served in multiple capacities. He was the President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Leader of Opposition in the A.P. State Assembly and the Chief Minister of A.P.
