On Wednesday 29th August, the drop-in centre situated at Balmoral Community centre started with lots of fanfare with around a hundred people attending the programme.

Shanti Niwas Charitable Trust is a not for profit organisation which was started in January 1994 with the objective of helping reduce the social isolation of elderly people from south Asian communities. The main objective is to empower seniors to learn to live life independently, in a culturally appropriate environment. In past 26 years since its inception, Shanti Niwas has helped thousands of people from the community to live a well contented and dignified life. Members also celebrated birthday of Shanti Niwas General Manager Nilima Venkat on this occasion.
