Nagraj Gollapudi, News Editor at Cricinfo, in a story posted on Tuesday wrote, “Patel did not confirm the dates for the tournament, but as reported recently, the BCCI has penciled in the window between September 26 and November 7 for the IPL, which comprises 60 matches. Patel said that the BCCI had been waiting for the ICC to formally postpone the men’s T20 World Cup this year, which has happened now, and freed up a window for the tournament.”

Gollapudi then quoted Patel as saying, “We have applied [for permission] with the Indian government. Should get it.”

Meanwhile, PTI’s story gave more details. It quoted Patel saying, “The IPL Governing Council will meet within a week or 10 days and all decisions (including final schedule) will be taken there. As of now, the plan is to have a full fledged IPL comprising 60 games and most likely in the UAE.”
