On June 13, Wellington-based Ekta NZ and St Peter’s Church got together to mark their second year of support to the Wellington City Mission (WCM).

Detailing the contribution of these organizations, WCM, in a Facebook post later, noted, “It was a pleasure to attend an event today put on by Ekta NZ and St. Peter’s on Willis (Wellington) where we were the proud recipients of a whole lot of donations including 100 blankets, 50 bedsheet sets, 25 electric blankets, 25 heaters, amongst a whole suite of other items! These will go towards supporting those at our housing facilities, as well as supporting people and families in need this winter. Thank you so much to Ekta NZ for your continuous and generous support. We’re deeply grateful and humbled by your love and generosity.”

Notably, Ekta is running a blanket donation campaign this winter, in collaboration with other organizations across New Zealand, including Brahma Kumaris and Coexistence Wellington in Wellington, Christchurch Indian Association in the Garden City, and Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust in Auckland.
